pricefreezeCascade freezes the price of its popular AbHaulier software for 12 months and adds major new functionality to the product for customers free of charge.

Sally Waterfall, Managing Director of Cascade Software, comments “We are delighted that AbHaulier remains an extremely popular software solution used by a large number of customers to submit abnormal load notifications to Police and Structure Owning Authorities. As a thank you to our loyal and supportive customers we have decided not to apply any price increases this year. In addition Cascade has made a considerable investment developing new functionality which we believe will reduce the time that hauliers, police and structure owning authorities have to spend time dealing with abnormal load notifications and we are making this available to our customers as a free software upgrade”

The AbHaulier software already provides the familiar Google mapping for easy route plotting but, without access to sensitive structural data across the whole of the UK’s road network, Cascade needed to find an easy alternative option for hauliers to track and manage route restrictions such as low or weak bridges or a prohibited abnormal load route.

By enabling hauliers to avoid restricted structures or routes we are saving hauliers, police forces and structure owning authorities a lot of time dealing with route changes and amendments. It’s a great win-win for both sides.

The newly developed functionality enables users to add restriction markers within the Google mapping for height, weight, width, length or other restrictions. If an intended route crosses a restriction marker, AbHaulier alerts the user if the vehicle and load dimensions exceed the restriction value. Date defined road-works, lane closures or general abnormal load restrictions can also be added. This means that AbHaulier users are able to choose a route that avoids problem structures, low bridges or roadworks.

Sally adds “Although AbHaulier users can add their own local restrictions we have already compiled a comprehensive database that includes more than 2000 abnormal load restrictions across the UK. This includes 1200 weak bridges and 430 low bridges. We are particularly proud of the number of restrictions added in and around London and would think that for any haulier this functionality will be highly valued.

By enabling hauliers to avoid restricted structures or routes we are saving hauliers, police forces and structure owning authorities a lot of time dealing with route changes and amendments. It’s a great win-win for both sides. If any police force or authority wishes us to add their unique restrictions to AbHaulier we would be delighted to accommodate them.”
